Plans are well under way for the festivities celebrating Southampton's 150th anniversary. One of the highlights is the 150th Anniversary Parade on August 16. (The full events list is here.)

Will you help us make the parade a resounding success? We need enthusiastic people to take part with floats, bands, cars, horse-drawn carriages, etc. (See the parade route, below.)

If your group, organization or business would like to join the parade, please submit the Registration Form and I will contact you with our decision.

We especially encourage entries tied to our theme of "Then and Now" -- reflecting our history, and looking at the present and into the future. There are prizes for the top three parade entries. The judges will be looking for entries in keeping with our theme of 150 years of history, and lots of enthusiasm!

The big 150th Anniversary Weekend is Aug. 14-17, 2008. We hope to see you there!
